Golfing, for many, is a sport worth watching and participating in, but for others it is just a boring sport that no one wants to watch. Whatever your view on the game of golf may be, many people tend to agree on one thing: Miniature Golf is something entirely different and more enjoyable. People who know nothing about real golfing or simply just do not like the sport, find themselves paying for a round of mini-golf at popular courses near their homes.

What is it about this low-key, “mini” sport that demands the attention of so many who never even consider the “normal-size” sport!? Many people find it fun to play on the fake green grass, putting through castles, and other themed obstacles. Some mini golf courses are indoor and some are outdoor; some are even glow-in-the-dark. Most of these course include some sort of small-scale water or sand trap. People enjoy coming and being able to walk around the course at a leisurely pace talking with friends or dates as they still continue to do something enjoyable.

This sport is based on actual golf, but it sure seems like a different sport entirely. These mini-golf courses are about one-tenth the size of normal golf courses. Actually, the first mini-golf course was created for women in Scotland in 1867. Women became interested in the game of golf, but were unable to play it because the heavy swing of the club would portray them as too violent for a female in that era. Thus, a smaller course was created and in the years to come, mini-golf courses began to be more popular as hotels provided these putting greens for the pleasure of their guests.

Miniature golfing is also known by many other names, especially in some other countries. Here are a few of those alternate names: mini-golf, midget golf, goofy golf, shorties, extreme golf, crazy golf, adventure golf, and mini-putt. Whatever the name, whatever you call it; if you’ve never been mini-golfing, it is definitely something you need to try out! And if you have been, well maybe it’s time you go again.

As Tiger Woods is preparing to make his return to golf after a 5 month break, due to a Thanksgiving car wreck and a world wide sex scandal, Nike has come out with a commercial of the golfer in hopes to regain the image that he once had.

The commercial is only in black and white and it portrays a calm, humble woods, with no sound but the voice of his late father, Earl, asking him if he has learned anything.

The commercial is really well done. From an advertising and marketing perspective, Nike hit this right down the middle of the fairway with help from the Wieden+Kennedy ad agency.

However, just because it is what the people will want to see, will this be effective in helping him restore his image and the faith of golf enthusiasts every where? I believe so. But it will not be as important as something else: winning.

Let’s use Kobe Bryant for a perfect example. Not only was he all over the news, but he had RAPED a girl. That is right. He forcefully made her submit to his sexual desires. Let’s look at where he is now. California and most of America love him and think that he is better than Michael Jordan. However, the reason for his success = winning.

This will be the same case for Tiger. If he gets out and starts winning tournaments, especially majors, this will all be swept under the rug.

Tiger Woods will be making his return to the world of golf at the Masters. Was anyone actually surprised by this? I think not.

Tiger has always tried to keep his life very private, and now everybody knows why. He has never loved having the media follow him everywhere he goes. That is exactly why he has chosen to make his debut this year at Augusta National, the site of the Masters.

Augusta National is probably the most respected golf course in the world: Only 300 members; no women members, however, they are allowed to play if they are invited by a member; only select media allowed to enter the grounds, etc. This is going to be the perfect environment for a man who recently fell from USA poster boy to the biggest scumbag of America.

Many predict that Woods will play well. I agree. the guy is the best golfer on the planet regardless of who and what he has slept with. Yeah the guy slept with a bunch of porn stars, cocktail waitresses, and who knows what else, but he is still the best in the game.

Recently, Woods played a few practice rounds with a few of his buddies out at Augusta. When his friends were asked how he was playing, they said it looked as thought the guy has no rust at all. They were also asked what part of his game is lacking and where could he improve, to which they responded, “nothing…nothing at all. He’s killing it. He’s absolutely killing it.”

It will be interesting to see how the crowd handles the return of Tiger Woods. Augusta National and their crew will not tolerate any heckling. This tournament is the “gentleman’s game” of all the major tournaments, which means hecklers will be rare because they do not want have their access pass revoked, which happens quickly at Augusta.

My honest opinion is that the crowd and fans will welcome Tiger back with open arms. Here are my reasons why:

Golf just isn’t the same without Tiger Woods. Let’s face it. Until 1996, nobody really cared about golf. And frankly, once he is done with golf, it will probably go back to being lame to watch.

America loves to forgive. Look at Alex Rodriguez. Look at Josh Hamilton. We as Americans love seeing people change their lives around. Whether it is alcohol, drugs, infidelity, etc. We love to see people change for the better.

He will win. That is right. I am predicting a victory, which is going to make the fans love him and accept him back even more. He is going to be the most focused Tiger Woods we have ever seen. Think of how amazing he was with his mental game while he was cheating on his wife? He had to juggle more women and emotions in his head than anyone I have ever seen. He still made those clutch shots and putts with all that in his head? Think of how dominant he will be with a clear head.

Whether Tiger wins another green jacket or not, the weekend of the Masters will be very exciting.

You can catch the first two rounds on ESPN, and the last two rounds will be on CBS.

The following statement was released on Tiger Woods‘ website:

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.
Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect.

But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don’t share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one’s own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn’t have to mean public confessions.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

The greatest golfer to ever play the game. The athlete with the squeaky clean reputation. The all-american icon for the sport of golf. The family man with a gorgeous wife and two little kids.

Could all these things be forgotten so quickly? Well, it depends.

Last week, Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident in his neighborhood that involved him, a fire hydrant, and a neighbor’s tree. Oh yeah, his wife and a golf club were also present. Woods was taken to the hospital due to lacerations to his face. Why his wife, Elin, was present, still remains unclear. Different news and media outlets are reporting that either she was helping him exit through the back of his Cadillac Escalade by shattering the window, or she was upset and chasing him down because of a presumed affair that Tiger has been having with Rachel Uchitel.

Here is a statement that was released by Tiger Woods yesterday:

“As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I’m pretty sore.

This situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.

This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.

The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.

This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.”

After talking with a few professionals of the PDGA, these are a few of the favorites they recommended that are “must plays” when it comes to frisbee golf parks.

Flip City Frisbee Golf Park

#1 Flip City Frisbee Golf Park (Shelby, MI)– This is pretty much the Augusta National of frisbee golf. This course has multiple elevated tees and very challenging holes. Be sure to bring some bug spray when playing this course in the spring and fall. The best part about this privately owned frisbee golf park…you can just show up and play.

#2 IdleWild Frisbee Golf Park (Burlington, KY)– This frisbee golf park has a very professional feel to it. From rolling hills to water hazards, placement will be key when playing here. It also won’t hurt to have some distance when trying to carry some of the water hazards.

Pier Frisbee Golf Park

#3 Milo McIver State Park (Estacada, OR)– A great park with winding holes and ups and downs. River access and hiking trails surround the park which make for a great place for an all day activity. Fantastic tee pads can be found here.

#4 Pier Frisbee Golf Park (Portland, OR)– This frisbee golf park plays very long. Beautiful course surrounded by 200ft tall douglas for trees that come into play on every hole.

#5 Richmond Hill Frisbee Golf Park (Asheville, NC)– This course is for the big boys. You have to be long to score well here. Be sure to wear pants unless you are positive that you will not be venturing into the poison ivy and oak that surround every hole. Also, this course is well known for its rotation of pin placements.

I am so sick of people that don’t understand the game of golf, yet pretend they do. All I hear from them is that “Tiger is having a rough year,” or that “Tiger is beyond his prime.” Absolutely absurd. He is at the top of his game, and here is why.

Tiger Woods is the best golfer to ever live. Period. I am not going to throw stats out to try and convince you of this fact. If you don’t already know it is true, then I truly feel bad for you. Wake up and smell the fresh air. If Tiger were to tee it up with Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Sam Sneed, Arnold Palmer, or whoever you think is the best ever, he would flat out spank them! And I am talking about all of those guys in their prime. Tiger is longer off the tee. Tiger has a better mental game. Tiger is clutch when it comes to making match winning shots. Tiger is a physical specimen that is in amazing shape. He would make them look ridiculous. Not a doubt in my mind.

For example, I will compare his year to that of Kobe Bryant’s in 2007-2008. Kobe did not win a championship, remember? This year, Tiger did not win a major. Did Kobe have amazing stats? Yes. Did he win the MVP that year? Yes he did. Does Tiger have amazing stats? Yes. Will he win the FedEx Cup this year? Yes. Did Kobe come back the following year and absolutely dominate the leauge? Yes. Is Tiger going to comeback and absolutely destroy the rest of the field next year? Yes. He will win two majors for sure. Hands down.

For all of you retarded reporters that can’t shoot under 90, have never gotten an eagle, who don’t know what a handicap is, please, for the sweet love of everything, just shut the hell up and stick to analyzing football and basketball. Tiger is the man. Get a clue and go back to talking about USC football or Brett Favre and his retirement. But please, for those of us that know and understand golf, keep your mouth closed.
