So the NFL playoffs are just around the corner and for some fans it’s getting stressful.
The Colts finally came out with a win last Thursday night, and the ‘W’ was long waited for. For a while there I was worried they would not even make the playoffs.
They can still win their division, but they have to win these next two games. It is a must and the players are probably well aware that it is crunch time.
The Colts are not too familiar with not making the playoffs, so they are in a rare spot having to worry about winning this late in the season. Fans, players, coaches, and owner Jim Irsay are all probably reminding the team when it means to be a Colt.
It means you have to win. It is expected and the players need to deliver-even if they are second string.
Sunday is a big day, especially for the Colts, who need a win to keep playoff dreams alive. Though the Superbowl is probably not in their reach seeing as how half of the offense is out with injuries; but they could put up a good fight for a couple of games into the playoffs.
Is anyone else disappointed with this year’s football season? Teams that have been great in past years are now at the bottom of the pack struggling to even make the playoffs.
The Colts, who have made the playoffs for a decade straight, are now only “in the hunt.” They have been plagued with injuries that have undoubtedly set back their game.
They always talk about the next player up needing to be just a prepared as the starters, but the truth is they aren’t and they couldn’t be.
Guys who are playing the field now haven’t even played in an NFL game before, and now they are being forced to play as a starter.
They don’t have the same rhythm and they can’t read the defense as well because they have never played them before.
Peyton Manning is a lone ranger, but football is a team sport. He can be great – the greatest – but if he doesn’t have teammates that help him out he can’t win.
Right now we see a great quarterback at the helm, but no help from his teammates. He can’t win games, and without his starters many are losing hope.
The Colts are missing almost all of their offensive weapons. Only Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne are healthy, and as long as the defense only have to focus on those two players, the Colts are in a lot of trouble.
Sunday September 19th is a monumental day in football. I don’t care if you hate the Mannings, no one can deny that Peyton is one of the best quarterbacks to have ever played the game.
Anyone who has even played in the Super Bowl is a phenomenal athlete; but Peyton and Eli Manning have not only both played in the biggest game of the sport, they have both won it and each received the honor of being game MVP’s. That is greatness.
Never before have two brothers come out and played the game against one another as starting quarterbacks. It’s a unique story, especially since their dad was one a star NFL quarterback in the 70′s and 80′s.
This Sunday is going to be an exciting game, and a special one to watch. The two teams only get to meet up every four years,so the two brothers will probably only get to play against each other in a real game 3 or 4 times their entire career.
