MLB Playoffs 2009
The 2009 MLB playoffs are underway!
In the American League, the heavily favored New York Yankees are playing the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox are playing the Anaheim Angels.
In the National League the St. Louis Cardinals are playing the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies are playing the Colorado Rockies.
Yesterday, the games turned out as follows–
- The Yankees beat the Twins as expected. They won 7-2 behind a dominating performance by their ace CC Sabathia.
- The Phillies beat the Rockies 5-1 as the defending world champions should.
- The Dodgers beat the Cardinals in a close game 5-3. That series will be a battle between the Card’s pitching and the Dodgers’ hitting.
My predictions:
- Yankees beat the Twins in four. The Twins will win one game back in Minnesota.
- The Angels will beat the Red Sox in four. The Red Sox will all look around like idiots and wonder what happened.
- The Phillies will win in five. The Rockies aren’t out of it yet. They will give the Phillies a run for their money. Expect some last inning heroics in this series.
- The Dodgers will sweep the Cardinals! You heard it here first. I just think that the Cards rely on Pujols and Halliday too much, and they will both go cold!
